We are in Semester 2, and report cards are coming your way. Did you do as well last semester as you could have? If not, it's not too late to make a New Year's Resolution—resolve to do better during this second half of the year!
Class of 2019: This week we will begin working on our biggest fundraiser-- Valentine's Day carnations! We need to get this information out to the community as quickly as possible and get the flowers ordered. Additionally, we welcome two new students to our Advisory this term: Adonis and Hannah. Please welcome them both and make them feel at “home” with us!
The Class of 2017 is selling lunch from Taste Unlimited on Tuesdays--orders must be in by the end of Meeting for Business! Check with Teacher Jeff or a member of the Class of 2017 to order.
The Class of 2020 is selling lunch from Panera on Wednesdays--orders must be placed by Tuesday morning. Check with Teacher Danny or a member of the Class of 2019 to order.
The Class of 2018 is selling lunch from Firehouse Subs on Thursdays--orders must be in by Advisory on Thursday. Check with Teacher Ebony or a member of the Class of 2018 to order.
The Class of 2019 is selling lunch from the Daily Grind on Fridays—orders must be in by Thursday at 3:00 PM. Check with Sophie, Sharon, Briella, or Makayla to order.
American Literature: We will look at the “Introduction” to our first unit, Beginnings to 1700 and familiarize ourselves with the map [pages 1-16]. We will also discuss the work of the authors NOT chosen for Multimedia Project 1. Reminder: Multimedia Project 1 presentations are due on Tuesday, February 6th!
Art History II: We will do some reading and watch a documentary this week on Eastern Art, something that will be new to many of you!

Contemporary Fiction: We are reading David Baldacci's Wish you Well. You need to be through Chapter 25 by the end of the week in order to respond to the journal prompt for the week.
Shakespeare's Comedies and Poetry: We begin our first play, Twelfth Night this week. First we will talk about what we can learn about the characters by the descriptions given of them by other characters, and then we will review what happens in the play and spend some time with a map of character relationships before choosing parts and reading out the play. I hope you will enjoy our exploration of this comedy that focuses on twins, disguises, and love at first sight!
World Literature: We will continue with our unit Travel and Self-Recognition in the Face of the Other:
