Tuesday is the big “reveal” for the Upper School Secret Santa/Hanukkah Harry/Kwanzaa Kevin/Bodhi Ben/Ramadan Ralphie/Yule Yorick/Divali Dennis festivities! So far, we only have a few people who have not received anything from their Secret Santa/Hanukkah Harry, and that is upsetting. I cannot figure out why anyone would choose to participate and then not see that this takes two to work: a receiver AND a giver! On Tuesday we will put all of the Secret Santa/Hanukkah Harry gifts under the tree in my room and get together after Meeting for Worship to see how well everyone kept secrets—this is always a LOT of fun, even if you are not dong Secret Santa/Hanukkah Harry, so please do not skip school on Tuesday just because it’s a half day! [Class of 2019, Santa will fill your stockings Monday night!]
No lunches are being sold this week as we have a short week with a noon dismissal on Tuesday!
Advanced Composition: There is no journal due until we come back from the break. Please be sure that you are on track with your I-Search project!
Art History I: Please make sure you are on track with your final assignment!
Film as Literature: Reminder: the chapter 8/Citizen Kane response is due on January 6th! We will finish Some Like it Hot and have some time to work on the final projects.
Fundamentals of Composition: Remember, there is no journal due until we return from the break! This week you have time to read for your final project or read Chapter 18: “The Essay Examination” which we will go over when we return from the break.
Mystery Fiction: Please finish reading A Morbid Taste for Bones, as the Postcards from Medieval Britain and the Crime Notes for this book are due on Friday, January 6th! This should give you PLENTY of time to finish reading! There will be no blogs due until the week we return from break!
ONLINE CLASSES: Please make sure you are following the pacing guide for the class; remember, regardless of whether or not WE have class/school, Virtual Virginia is available, and you may have assignments due!
Have a great break—see you next year!
