This is a very short week with the Thanksgiving Feast on Tuesday, and then afternoon classes, and dismissal at 3:25 for FIVE days off! Please note that we DO have classes Tuesday afternoon, and you are expected to be here!
The annual Thanksgiving Feast will be held on Tuesday November 25th, and this year we are trying something a bit different. Everyone will bring his/her lunch [make sure that you do not need a microwave!]. We will all eat together in the gym, and then we will share desserts provided by the Upper School Advisories. Additionally, we will be collecting non-perishable foods for Spirit Rising: Spirit Rising is a non-profit organization that sponsors Native American Children, Elders, and Families suffering from the grip of dire poverty. We advocate for our Native People on and off the reservations in Virginia and at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation located in South Dakota. We do NOT have early release that day, so plan accordingly! The Thanksgiving Break begins at 3:30 on Tuesday, November 25th, and runs through Sunday, November 30th.

Mystery Fiction: Remember, our class discussion takes place on our class blog; each of you must post one in-depth original comment in response to my prompt by Thursday, and then each of you should respond to someone else's post by Saturday midnight if you are to earn full credit for this course requirement! Please be sure that you are posting to the correct blog entry and making your second post by Saturday at midnight for full credit! I am deducting points for spelling and grammar mistakes, and for obvious vague entries that you are posting when you have NOT read all of the required pages, so be mindful of this as you post! I will move the completion date for Silver Pigs to Thursday, December 4th, but you need to be sure that you have read through Chapter 37 [XXXVII], page 180 for class on Tuesday. I will be giving you an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of what you have read before we head off to the Thanksgiving Feast...
Make a note on your calendar for the first week in December [it will be here before you know it!], the monthly Advisory breakfast will be held on Friday, December 5th, and this will be an all-Upper School event.
