On Tuesday, November 28th, Tiffany Gordon of Ferrum College http://www.ferrum.edu/ will be visiting with us at 11:00 in the English classroom.
If you want to learn how to make a quilt, come join me on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 6:00, and I will teach you a really easy pattern/method which anyone can learn. You will need a sewing machine, and you need to know how to use it! All of the information you need to participate is in the handout on the right which you can download. I only have space for four to six people, so please let me know as soon as possible if you plan to sign up for the classes!
This week brings the beginning of December, and that means we will be having the All-Upper-School-Holiday-Breakfast on Friday during Advisory. Additionally, the breakfast serves as the kick-off for our annual Secret Santa/Hanukkah Harry/Kwanzaa Kevin/Bodhi Ben/Ramadan Ralphie/Yule Yorick/Divali Dennis celebration! There is a handout on the right which you can download with all of the guidelines and dates listed for the festivities. Participation is NOT required, but if you do choose to participate, please do so wholeheartedly; it isn't fair to take someone's name and then not give him/her anything while receiving gifts yourself. Each year we have had this happen, and I am hoping this will be the year that we finally do this without any glitches! To participate, complete a participant slip with your name and your likes/dislikes filled out. Once you have filled out the slip, please fold it and put it in the green vase in my classroom. We will draw names on Friday at about 8:30 AM, so ALL slips need to be turned in before that time. I look forward to having all of you participate!
Menus for the lunch offerings can be downloaded at the right. The Class of 2018 will have lunch available from Taste Unlimited on Mondays; The Class of 2021 offers lunch from SaladWorks on Tuesdays; the Class of 2019 offers lunch from Tropical Smoothie on Wednesdays; and the Class of 2018 offers lunch from Firehouse Subs on Thursdays. Students may order pizza through the main office for lunch on Fridays.
